Bringing a portfolio of Cabernet Sauvignon wines to the Napa Valley area, Alejandro Bulgheroni Estates opens their doors with a veteran team leading all operations.

International vintner Alejandro P. Bulgheroni announced the opening of Alejandro Bulgheroni Estate, located at 500 Meadowood Lane in Saint Helena. The winery produces small-lot Cabernet Sauvignon wines from the estate and from select sites within Napa Valley. The company also announced the opening of its hospitality salon, located on the Estate.  Private tastings of Alejandro Bulgheroni Estate wines are available to wine collectors by appointment.

The Alejandro Bulgheroni Estate team is led by wine industry veteran Santiago Cilley, managing director of Mr. Bulgheroni’s North American-based wine companies.  Renowned winemaker Philippe Melka, consulting enologist Michel Rolland, and viticulturist Jim Barbour oversee winemaking and vineyard management operations.

“With its diverse soils, elevations and climates, Napa Valley offers the opportunity to create a portfolio of distinct Cabernet Sauvignon wines, each with its own character,” said Mr. Bulgheroni.  “Our intent with Alejandro Bulgheroni Estate is to select superior sites within the Valley and provide Philippe and Michel with every available resource to produce extraordinary wines that reflect these special places.”

The 2014 vintage marks the inaugural release of Alejandro Bulgheroni Estate wines.  Included in the portfolio is the iconic Alejandro Bulgheroni Cabernet Sauvignon, a blend representing the finest barrels of the Estate, personally chosen by Mr. Bulgheroni and the winemaking team.  In creating Alejandro Bulgheroni Cabernet Sauvignon, master blenders Melka and Rolland unified the contributing wines into an exceptional wine.  As a best barrel selection, the composition of each vintage of Alejandro Bulgheroni Cabernet Sauvignon will be unique.

The company also announced Lithology by Alejandro Bulgheroni Estate, a series of single-vineyard and appellation-designated wines made from select Napa Valley sites.  The Lithology Series will feature three wines – Lithology Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, Lithology Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon and Lithology Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley.

“The lithology of rock and the makeup of soil play an important role in winemaking,” said Melka.  “The Lithology Series allows us to bring soil’s significance to the foreground and highlight its nuances in wine.”

Alejandro Bulgheroni Estate wines are available exclusively to members of the mailing list and at a limited number of fine dining establishments in the United States.
