The highly anticipated downtown Napa steakhouse debuts within the soon-to-open Archer Hotel Napa

On November 15, 2017 chef Charlie Palmer launched the first California location of his modern American steakhouse, Charlie Palmer Steak Napa. In collaboration with chef Palmer, executive chef Jeffery Russell has created a dynamic, modern American steakhouse menu, featuring dishes and ingredients sourced from Napa Valley’s surrounding agricultural and viticultural regions. Charlie Palmer Steak Napa is the fifth iteration of Charlie Palmer Steak, with sister properties in New York, Washington D.C., Las Vegas, and Reno. During the restaurant’s soft opening period through November 22, all dining checks will receive a 25 percent discount and guests will have the option to donate the discounted percentage directly to the Napa Valley Community Disaster Relief Fund. The restaurant is open for dinner service only through the end of November.

The highly anticipated restaurant is the first major outlet to open within the Archer Hotel Napa – a luxury, boutique, new-build hotel located at 1230 First Street and anchoring over 325,000 square foot retail development, First Street Napa. Under the direction of chef Russell and director of food and beverage Peter Triolo, Charlie Palmer Group will manage all food and beverage offerings within the hotel, including in-room dining, catering, events, and the forthcoming rooftop bar and restaurant. Located on the ground floor of Archer Hotel, Charlie Palmer Steak Napa will serve three meals a day and bottomless brunch on Sundays, beginning in December. The 4000-square foot, 120-seat restaurant extends into the lobby with a 48-seat lounge and 12-seat circular bar, outside to an al fresco dining patio, and throughout the hotel with ample private and semi-private event spaces.

“It is impossible not to fall in love with Northern California and after living here for over 15 years and exploring the region, I knew downtown Napa–with its singular capacity for wine country urban growth–was where I wanted my next California project to be,” said chef Palmer. “Archer Hotel and the LodgeWorks teams are such great partners and we look forward to deepening that relationship as we open these new spaces and welcome guests.”

MODERN AMERICAN STEAKHOUSE MENUS

Utilizing prolific regional producers, chef Palmer and Russell’s menus at Charlie Palmer Steak feature classic American dishes with a distinctive Napa approach. The menus draw on chef Russell’s vast steakhouse experience with a robust offering of prime steaks and chops, primarily sourced from local ranchers and meat purveyors, including 5 Dot Ranch, as well as artisanal products from Snake River Farms and Mishima Reserve Wagyu. Chef Russell includes signature dishes from his tenure at Charlie Palmer Steak DC on the Napa menu, including Wagyu Beef Carpaccio, Classic Tuna Tartare, and Lobster Corn Dogs. Specific to the Napa location, chef Russell’s menu will reflect contemporary wine country flavors. Menu highlights include: 

·       All-Inclusive Brunch

o   Spinning Doughnut Wheel, cinnamon-sugar, chocolate-glazed, and almond

·       Lunch

o   Five Spice Spot Prawns, wheat berries, golden raisin sunchoke, wild arugula

o   Charlie Palmer Steak Sandwich, seared New York strip, caramelized onions, CP signature sauce – the official steak sandwich of madison square garden

o   Grilled 5 Dot Ranch Burger, soft poppy seed roll, caramelized onion, beefsteak tomato, downtown dill, choice of cheese

·       Dinner

o   Prime Platter, chilled Maine lobster, oysters, poached prawns, king crab legs

o   Line Caught Alaskan Halibut, baby root vegetables, trumpet royale mushrooms, rosemary citrus emulsion

o   21-Day Dry Aged Bone-on Tomahawk for 2

o   A5 Wagyu from Miyazaki Prefecture, Japan

WINES & SPIRITS

Drawing inspiration from the surrounding area, Peter Triolo and wine and beverage manager Joshua Benjamin developed Charlie Palmer Steak’s beverage program, the cornerstone of which is the 400-selection wine list, comprised of over 50 percent Napa Valley wines. The bar and lounge menus also feature over twenty wines by the glass and a selection of local beers, including their very own house brewed CP IPA. The classic meets modern cocktail list incorporates local spirits, herbs and botanicals, as well as fruits and vegetables from Archer’s rooftop garden and local farms.
