Vintner Jean-Charles Boisset (JCB) is expanding his Boisset Collection to now include a brewery.  He recently joined forces with vintners Dominic Foppoli and Clay Fritz who started the Old Redwood Brewing Company in Windsor, California in 2012.

On November 28, 2018 guests and friends showed up at the old brewing location in the heart of downtown Windsor to “help break the walls of the past to prepare for the new brewery,” which will be called Windsor Brewing Company.  Adorned with Sledgehammers and hard hats attendees took turns tearing into the wall piece by piece as onlookers cheered on. JCB proclaimed that “everyone here is part of a new beginning.”

“This is an opportunity to do something unique with Jean-Charles,” said Fritz.  “We are excited to partner with him.

“This indeed is a fun time and we are saving on contractors’ time,” joked JCB.  “This is a great partnership between iconic personalities from Napa, Sonoma and San Francisco and I’m glad to continue Dominic and Clay’s vision to make Windsor a beer destination.”

The idea to join forces began with a discussion in Kansas City of all places when the trio recognized the fact that Windsor (located north of Santa Rosa in Sonoma County’s Wine Country) is a place where people can congregate and drink beer among the vines.  With the opening of the Russian River Brewery also in Windsor, Windsor is becoming a hot spot for beer and is adding to the momentum of the towns resurgence.

JCB, originally from France and a French wine making family, he joked with the crowd that California’s Windsor is almost better than the Windsor Castle in Britain. “As a Frenchmen, that is ideal,” he said.

The Boisset Collection also includes:  Raymond Vineyards in St. Helena, JCB Tasting Salons in Yountville, Healdsburg Tasting Salon in Healdsburg, Tasting Lounge inside the Ritz Carlton in San Francisco, Buena Vista Winery and De Loach Vineyards.  Besides fine wine, hard cider, spirits and bubbles, JCB is adding beer to his mix.

Windsor Brewing Company is slated to open in April, 2019 at 9000 Windsor Road, Windsor, CA.  They will offer a wide range of styles and will have something for everyone.
