Zinfandel lovers, advocates, master sommeliers, wine industry leaders and hospitality professionals gathered in San Francisco for a three-day event called Zinfandel Experience.
The inaugural event Jan. 18-20 is largely educationally focused, with winemaker and hospitality-oriented seminars, and a grand tasting closing the event at Pier 27. This year August Briggs Winery, Beran Wines, D-Cubed Cellars, and Wonderment Wines of the Napa Valley had the privilege of joining and sharing at ZinEX.
“ZinEX brings winemakers and enthusiasts together to showcase Zinfandel’s classic character and diversity for any occasion, whether it’s with burgers, fine dining, or simply sipping with friends,” states Randle Johnson, ZAP Vice President and Winemaker at Artezin.
By featuring a diverse range of topics, wines, and regions ZinEX kickstarts dialogue and conversations that continue to move the wine industry forward. The Grand Tasting and main event brought the public face-to-face with winemakers during one of the most comprehensive showings of Zinfandel wine, blending both worlds in perfect harmony. Real time social media coverage was highlighted using the hashtag #ZinEX with prizes being presented to those who posted the best photos and livestreams.
“From first time guests to seasoned ZinEX attendees, everyone who comes to the experience makes exciting wine discoveries,” said Rebecca Robinson, ZAP’s Executive Director. “The event offers rare opportunities to chat with winemakers who share their inspiring stories and insight into crafting the wines.”
