2023 MLK CELEBRATION OF COMPASSION & ACTION COMMEMORATION

January 15, 2023 @ 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm

Free

Napa Valley’s MLK Celebration of Compassion & Action seeks to renew Dr. King’s vision of a Beloved Community: where there is inclusion, equity, justice, and compassion for all.  After a 3 year pandemic hiatus, the two-day event returns with abundant opportunities to serve our community, promote awareness, and connect with each other in meaningful ways. Sunday, Jan. 15 begins with a public commemoration at 4 PM at the Congregation Beth Shalom synagogue. Speakers include Karla Gomez-Pelayo, from the Legacy Youth Project, JT Thompson, Napa Valley Black History Month celebration founder and community mental health advocate, and Lilea Heine, from the Rainbow Action Network. The celebration continues on Monday with various community service activities. Over 1800 people have participated in past events. Individually we make a difference and together as a community, we have a much greater impact.
