May 24

Experience a Once-in-a-Lifetime Event: Judgment of Napa on May 24th, 2021

A SPECIAL OCCASION TO JUDGE NAPA’S FINEST WINES AGAINST SOME OF THE WORLD’S FINEST WINES

You are invited to participate in the Judgment of Napa, a special occasion to judge Napa’s finest wines against some of the world’s finest wines in an exclusive blind tasting at the Culinary Institute of America at Greystone in Napa Valley, California.

This exceptional event is a tribute to three key individuals: Steven Spurrier, organizer of the sensational 1976 Judgment of Paris, George Taber, the journalist who covered the event and Patricia Gastaud-Gallagher whose idea for the momentous tasting unmistakably elevated the profile of California wines overnight.

On this intimate occasion, several guests will have the privilege of tasting 20 rare wines (10 whites and 10 reds) with an esteemed panel of honored hosts including two wine experts:

  • Peter Marks, Master of Wine, who has scoured the world to perfect the lineup of bottles for this experience
  • Andrea Immer Robinson, world-renowned Master Sommelier, event emcee and a guest judge

Additional hosts include notable Napa vintners and winemakers plus select participating partners.

Following the fine wine tasting event and tribute, a vintner dinner will be hosted by Favia, Penfolds and Darioush wineries.

The Napa event will offer Rolls Royce experience and showcase Davidoff of Geneva premium cigar and wine pairings in a smoke and sip experience.

BECKSTOFFER TO KALON-TASTE LEGENDARY WINES

“Downright sexy” isn’t often seen in the tasting notes, but you can sample the legendary powerhouses at the Napa event.

Alejandro Bulgheroni Estate “Lithology”, TOR “Beckstoffer To Kalon” and Tres Perlas “Desde”.

Also featured, prized Grgich Hills Chardonnay and Bodvar Rosé.

Exquisite accommodations provided by Auberge properties.

More about the Judgment of Napa

A modern-day interpretation of the historic Judgment of Paris, the 2021 Judgment of Napa is blessed with the enthusiastic endorsement of British wine merchant Steven Spurrier and journalist George Taber. “On the 24th of May in 1976, nine judges chose California wines above the top wines of France and the rest is history. The Judgment of Napa will remind people of the Judgment of Paris and also bring it up to date. I should know…I was there,” said Spurrier.

On May 24th, 2021, Judgment of Napa raises the stakes by conducting a blind tasting competition between great Napa Valley wines and the best wines from around the world.

Conceived and presented by Napa-based luxury concierge Angela Duerr and her Cultured Vine team, the Judgment of Napa will be held at The Culinary Institute of America at Greystone in St. Helena, California. Thereafter, a 10-day roadshow brings the event to wine lovers across America in Beverly Hills, Dallas, Palm Beach and New York City.
