A Taste of La Dolce Vita in the Heart of Sonoma

Greeted by sweeping views of the Sonoma Valley, estate vineyards, and a wetland wildlife preserve, visitors are sure to get a warm Italian welcome when they set foot on Viansa Winery’s Tuscan-inspired estate.

Viansa is currently celebrating its 30th anniversary, a proud accomplishment for Viansa’s current proprietors, Chris and Jon Sebastiani. As the sons of Viansa’s founders, Sam and Vicki Sebastiani, Chris and Jon are the fourth generation of the Sebastiani family to make wine in Sonoma.

The family’s legacy has been instrumental in establishing California as a world-renowned wine region, beginning in 1896 when Samuele Sebastiani brought his Northern Italian winemaking expertise across the world from Lucca to Sonoma.

Viansa was among the first wineries in the  country  to establish  a direct to consumer wine club and create a robust food program, hosting intimate experiences for members who are welcomed and celebrated as amici di famiglia, or “friends of the family.”

LOVE OF THE LAND

Several inviting experiences continue to attract guests to Viansa’s hilltop villa, commonly referred to as the “Summit of Sonoma” for its unmatched 270-degree views of the entire Sonoma Valley. Surrounding the villa, the property cascades into estate vine- yards and a wetland preserve—97 acres of beautiful natural habitat for migratory birds, waterfowl, and native plants. In the coming years, Viansa plans to share this special place with guests through a new wildlife-focused wetland tour and tasting experience.

WHAT’S NEW AT THE VILLA

In light of Viansa’s 30th anniversary, the winery has recently launched a collaboration with Maria Giannini, of renowned Florentine paper and bookbinding studio, Giulio Giannini e Figlio.  The  Giannini  family has created beautiful handmade art for over 150 years, and Viansa is honored to display over 15 of Maria’s original works on their new wine labels. Each piece has been handcrafted to reflect the character, history, and origin of each wine, and together form a beautiful collection that reflects the vibrant history of Viansa.

VISITING VIANSA

Whether one is stopping by Viansa Winery to taste a curated flight with food pairings or to simply share a bottle and a wood-fired pizza with friends (kids and dogs are welcome too), Viansa’s signature hospitality awaits, inviting guests to experience a taste of la dolce vita in sunny Sonoma Valley.

For a truly unique experience, Viansa’s custom Outlooks provide a treehouse-like perspective over the vineyards and offer private space for more intimate  gatherings. For a more casual experience that conjures up dreamy Tuscan summers, pull up a seat at one of the bistro tables on the terrace  and  shop the Italian Marketplace for gifts, home décor, kitchen supplies, and more. Viansa also offers lounge seating in the  members-only  Veranda, a shaded and secluded portion of the terrace that overlooks the estate wetland preserve.

No matter how one chooses to experience Viansa, a personal Tuscan vacation in Sonoma awaits.
